You can only hope your community has closer genetic links to Bonobos and not Chimpanzees

Machine dated at 400 million years found in Russia

Image
RUSSIA. In the remote Kamchatka peninsula (map below), 200 km from Tigil, University of St. Petersburg archaeologists discovered a strange fossil. The authenticity of the find has been certified. According archaeologist Yuri Golubev, occurs that, in this case the discovery surprised scientists by its nature, at least - unusual, able to change history (or pre-history).

It is not the first time that is an artifact, an ancient object, something like this is found in that region. But, surprisingly conserved, this specific artifact is - at first glance, inlaid in rock (which is understandable since the peninsula is home to numerous volcanoes). Subjected to analysis, the conjunct showed to be made of metal parts that seem to form a mechanism, a gear which may be of a type of watch or computer. The astonishing is that all the pieces were dated in 400 million! of anos.Yury Gobulev commented:

For Richer (Not For Poorer): The Inequality Crisis of Marriage
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'M')arriage, as a result, now offers fewer people a boost up the economic ladder. Stop and think what this means for the growing inequality in Americans' incomes over the next decade or more. If well-educated people with good jobs marry one another, they'll have a better shot at saving money and accumulating wealth. Less-educated, lower-income couples may stick together, but their lack of schooling means they're both more likely to struggle to find work, and they'll have sparser resources to fall back on if one of them loses a job.

Then consider the impact on the next generation. Well-educated, wealthy Americans will have more resources to spend on their children's education, health, and enrichment; low-income people can offer fewer opportunities to help their offspring get ahead.

"The big losers within the marriage data are children who are increasingly raised with fewer resources," said Michael Greenstone, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, which has published several studies on marriage. "If you want to get a little grandiose, it undermines the social fabric of the country that rests on the idea that everyone has an equal chance at success."

Military-Funded Brain Science Sparks Controversy
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')or instance, a brain-computer interface was used by a monkey to remotely control a walking robot in 2007. However, such interfaces could help people operate weapons, robotic exoskeletons, killer drones and other machines while sheltered from the reality of combat and its deadly consequences, said bioethicist Jonathan Moreno at the University of Pennsylvania, author of "Mind Wars: Brain Research and National Defense" (Dana Press, 2006).

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('vaseline2008', '
')If you look at the Wikipedia List of countries by life expectancy (they have the 2011 CIA Factbook numbers too) you will notice a trend of wealthier nations at the top and the poorer ones at the bottom.

Could that just be rich countries put their elderly on "life support" in their final years? I mean, not living but existing? You could argue that this is not meaningful.

I think the next stage of human evolution is whether we decide to allow evolution to reign over us anymore, or to go down the road of choosing our own path. Basically, it is the same situation as free will, where free will lies in being able to choose to do what you believe is right over what will bring you prosperity or pleasure. Now we have the ability to choose what is right over what might be in the best interest of propagating the species. It's not like we haven't been walking into this for a long time. With advances such as the quelling of racism and the liberation of women we have been getting there. As we go along I look for even more change in this direction. I think it will begin to bring new ideas to the areas of religion, politics, social order and the like. Perhaps the hardest thing to understand in it all will not be the idea of overcoming evolution, but the nature of the resistance to that.
