I embrace Peak Oil and welcome it. It will be the beginning of the Rebirth of the Human Race. Fear not for not all humans will die off. Humanity will continue on and evolve into a higher species. Humanity is in its sophomoric stage at the moment and once matured will blossom into something better (from a biological viewpoint, not ethical or moral).
The ingredients for the next recipe of humanity will include:
DNA Biotechnology (life span increases leading to immortality)
Nanotechnology (however in the future biotech and nanotech will be on a collision course to see which is better)
Robotics (machines to serve mankind so humans will have more time to innovate)
Artificial Intelligence (to increase the intelligence of the human brain capacity)
Exponential technological advances (I am aware of Dr. Tom Murphy's writings and agree with him)
You may equate my rants as to those of Hitler's however the trajectories of the above "ingredients" will ultimately shape the outcome of the human race as we know it today. Need proof?
Craig Venter is the first to sequence DNA to create his own unique lifeform (bacteria, but you gotta start somewhere). In the future writing DNA code will be as easy as writing computer code, after all it is just code.
Scientists have found that the Planarian worm (asexual version) has the ability to become immortal.
Robotics technology is ever increasing, in NY there is a fully automated computer chip factory that is being built at this time.
The autonomous car is already invented, just not implemented.
A 17 year old student has won an award for designing a nanobot that will in the future help eradicate cancer cells.
Computer chip implants in humans are already being tested with success.
Thought control games are already on the market. Reading a person's thoughts are already being investigated.
IBM announced advances in quantum computing. Lockheed Martin has purchased a commercially available quantum computer in 2011.
Humanity is becoming less and less religious.
Robotics will allow fully automated production of everything from food to consumer products. DNA manipulation will eradicate disease, increase human lifespan and possibly immortality. The ability to produce new lifeforms that will assist the next human race will be reality.
The top of humanity, the 1% (even smaller perhaps, 0.01%) are the ones who are are inventing and innovating. The rest of us just wallow in their successes. The top has the power, knowledge, military might (humanity now has more than enough weapons to kill off the entire species on a whim, not just nukes...but combine all weapons and you get the picture), and the will to make it happen. Bilderberg Group to name just one organization of people planning for the future of humanity, their plan, not yours.
Look at the 1% and what do you see? You see the best of humanity (not all but the majority). They are the most intelligent, clever/smart, beautiful (subjective of course but you understand), healthiest (Magic Johnson 20 years HIV+ and alive?), strongest, most athletic, and most creative (insert any pop idol you like here). Food and shelter alone is not enough for humanity. Humanity needs arts and entertainment as well as science to make a well rounded species.
As maniacal, out of this world, evil (really do I sound like a Hitler lunatic?), or strange my rants seem, I ask you to open your mind a bit and let your imagination run wild. I have been called Orwellian and compared to Hitler but I am under no delusion that my genes are the cream of the crop, quite the opposite. I accept my limitations and live life accordingly. All I have stated above in true, but don't take my word for all of this, use all the tools at your disposal to research and come up with your own ideas and thoughts. I won't do the research for you, after all I am only human.
Enjoy life while you can, live each day as if it was your last. We can't save everyone.
I'd rather be the killer than the victim.
The Money Badger don't care. Sucks to be poor!
