$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Pretorian', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('basil_hayden', 'B')ut find that crap on a resume and it leads to immediate firing. Go figure.

any crap on a resume leads to immediate firing. If its crappy enough, that is.

btw Napoleon got to say something about your decorations:

“A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon.”

Not in my case, I thought they were a pain in the butt, especially the ceremonies to get them. Then you have to keep them all correct on your uniform and constantly buy new sets of ribbons. After I earned my first Air Medal (five combat missions), I never put in for any more (actually, my squadron put the first request in not me). They just did not mean much to me.

For enlisted, it is different. They get points toward promotion with each medal. We used to kid around that they should deduct points for the Purple Heart, because getting hit meant you weren't good enough to kill the other guy before you got hit.

A soldier will fight long and hard for a lot of things, his country, Liberty, but most important his fellow soldier. Not so much for a piece of ribbon.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('careinke', 'I')'m not sure how calling a person a scumbag is a physical assault. Are there certain words one should not use? How about when you call religions you don't like "weird" or dangerous. Is weird less of an assault word than scumbag?
I'll say it one more time. Polls, surveys, SCIENCE, is a search for truth. If you just want opinionate (which is fine. that is all i ever do here, for the most part) then have fun. i do. but don't fool yourself that your opininated rant camoflauged as a poll is going to change folks mind.

I've been around way too many people from different cultures and countries to believe I can change anyone's mind.

I think they should throw Medal of Honor liars in prison as long as they throw someone like Santorum in prison for claiming he will bring $2.50 gas.
An ideology is by definition not a search for TRUTH-but a search for PROOF that its point of view is right

yes Rangerone. Promises to reduce fuel to $2.50 are far more damaging to the public than claiming a personal victory that never occured.

Cool on Santorum, can we add Obama in there until GITMO is closed and the deficit is cut in half?

Just think if lying was always illegal. There would be no more politicians.

Well, if that is how the majority of people feel then I will just go ahead and wipe my ass with the constitution, because the damn thing has been raped all too hell anyway.

Careinke is quite correct about why people fight. In combat you fight to keep yourself and unit alive. Pieces of ribbons and medals are not on your mind.

Medals come after the fact and are a recognition of valor. It is important to recognize those actions which are above and beyond the normal call of duty from a motivational viewpoint. Both for the person receiving the medal and for those others to see, that the country cares about the sacrifices being made.

In all my time in the service, I've never heard a soul say that they were fighting for their country to get medals and ribbons.

But back to the topic at hand. No I would not make it a crime to claim to have a medal you didn't earn. Such claims only denigrate the person making them. They should be shamed out of office for doing so and I literally would turn my back on such a man. The First Amendment is too important of a part of our rights to continue its destruction.

Republicans lie all the time, why should this be any different? Whatever gets you what you want.

Besides, even Republicans know Liberal chicks are hotter and more fun than those frigid Republican shrews. They have to lie or suffer.

Would you want to bed Anne Coulter? God, what a nightmare. Aside from what you might catch.
The Fascist accepts life and loves it, knowing nothing of and despising suicide; he rather conceives of life as duty and struggle and conquest, life, which should be high and full, lived for oneself, but not, above all, for others.”

Actually the opposite is true from my experience. The more inhibited the woman, the more wild she becomes in bed when you break that conditioning.

Trust me, I know.

Well he didn't win everything. When I think of the little tyrant, I always think of his dispatch to Josephine. "I'll be home in two weeks, don't bathe." (Liberally paraphrased).
