$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SidneyTawl', '
')I went back and didn't see this info posted in quotes, it may have been in links. I only saw it in one post in the last few pages and it referred to the innoculation of two million birds in china. With proof only from their (China's) word.
From what I read, the only vaccine is tamaflu. However its not clear to me if that is for the birds and/or humans also.
There was a severe shortage of thama flu from my the demand.
This is a (the) chinese "vaccine"?
Or from where.
Vaccines only work if you use them before the onslaught of the disease.
What is the ramp-up time to produce this bird vaccine.
The Chinese claim that they have vaccinated the 3 million domestic chickens, ducks, geese, etc. that are at risk from the migratory fowl landing in Qinghai.
When Hong Kong had a bird flu scare last year, they just slaughtered over a million birds rather than risk them getting into the food supply. Of course, Hong Kong had the administrative ability to pull that off as well as the financial resources to absorb the economic loss. Qinghai has neither.
My cynical side assumes that Chinese authorities are merely saying that they have the bird flu under control in Qinghai, while actually doing very little. They claim they have given all these vaccines and that everything is OK. But I think it is just a sham to avoid bad publicity.
Hopefully I am wrong.
