The European settlers of North America fought a war against the native inhabitants. Thanks to gunpowder, the settlers kicked the natives out of 99% of the continent.
Now the settlers live in the richest, most powerful nation in human history and the natives are forced to live in dilapidated shacks in the desert or run ethically questionable gambling establishments.
Wouldn't you agree that the settlers "won" the war?

I agree with your point, but small pox was much more important in bringing down the Indian nations than gunpowder. Blame the Spanish.
