You forgot the article from yesterday about Morgan Stanley and BP witholding advertising dollars from any media outlet that printed stories on them w/out prior approval. With the way our major media are funded that amounts to out and out censorship. I realize that control of the media of this nature has happened for a while, but now it's becoming overt...

I'm on the fence when it comes to gov involvement in 9-11 recognizing that the Rupperts of the world may be right but not having any way to convince myself where the disinformation is really coming from. If one assumes that the War on Terrorism is exactly that then the tighter security situation is quite understandable and has plenty of historical precedents. If one assumes that the War on Terrorism is a smoke-screen for Resource Wars and was instigated nazi-style then we're in trouble, all right. Time will tell, I think.

Hey! I was arrested and put on probation for disturbing the peace (total of 9 complaints) for wearing a teeshirt that sported the message: "Bush sucks.and a yellow ribbon that stated: Support Halliburton)
I was also busted for crossing private property (criminal trespass) while carrying a "500 Dead for Halliburton" placard.
Life in the Korporate-fascist police state.

Give 'em hell, oowolf. But you gotta change your placard to '1600 dead for Halliburton'.

Here's another to add to the list:

Judge refuses parents the right to teach their child "non-mainstream" religion.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')his was done without either of us requesting it and at the judge's whim," said Jones, who has organized Pagan Pride Day events in Indianapolis. "It is upsetting to our son that he cannot celebrate holidays with us, including Yule, which is winter solstice, and Ostara, which is the spring equinox."

I thought there was freedom of religious expression in America?

Whatever you do, don't vandalize SUVs or you'll be enjoying a long term stay in the gray bar hotel.

California Environmentalist Gets 8 Years for SUV Firebombing

I think vandalizing a hummer in the US is the moral equivalent of flushing a koran down the toilet in the ME.

'Be not afraid' - the words of Pope John Paul II.

There is nothing more inspiring to the human spirit than a man who lays his life before others for his beliefs.

Yes, we might be in for the worst times in history. If so, i'll sacrifice everything, including my life, to protect my family. What else is there to do?

I could be quite happy walking around, raising animals, and growing vegetables. People have done that for 10,000 years.

I am afraid of the dark age of fundamentalist government opression and the violent madness that will be unleashed when the heavily armed SUV/Walmart tribes of exurbia learn their world is vanishing.

I can't wait for the Jerry Bruckheimer movie version!

And I am already drooling in anticipation thinking about the coming plastic resin "Wal-Mart tribe" action figures.

double knot

What are you saying.

That there is a freedom of religion and that freedom is for the courts to be a representitive of that overal freedom.

Or the court has the freedom to represent a religious viewpoint.

AMERICA'S LIFELINE HAS BEEN SEVERED! Great tagline. For some strange reason, I laughed when I heard that. Infotainment cannot be taken seriously. One craves the real thing to get these show-bizzers to just dry up and go away. What was that song from the 80's 'Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down?' Don Henley. Great lyrics about the Evening News where the bubble headed bleach-blonde can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye. Dirty Laundry I think it was. How many of you crave a good stiff shot of REALITY to burst this crazy culture? I am disgusted with popular culture now, it all seems so tinsel cheap and pointless. I have a blockbuster online subscription and I haven't watched the movies they sent me three weeks ago yet. Guess I'll just have to cancel it.
