She tilts back in her chair, belches loudly and screams at her husband to bring her another beer. He does the hundred yard dash in stilleto heels to the kitchen, and meekly returns with the choice brew of lumberjacks throughout Lower Alabama. "Thanks, Sweetheart" Rhinestones says, "Now go get something pretty on, and rustle me up some grub, I have a heavy day of sarcasm ahead and a date with Peak Oil forum destiny."
 hundred yard dash in stiletto heels  I assumed his sarcasm was directed at the dingbat and me, but that's OK. XXYY, what would that do? Santa can give my little present to that other guy. Make him twice the woman i'll ever be.

Penultimate, I think Y chromosomes are the masculine ones. I read somewhere that there's a condition called extra Y chomosome, that eventually turns male fetuses into sub-human hulks who end up torturing small animals as children and move on to a life of serial killing (or posting unkind things to Zentric)

I think there's also an extra X chromosome that has a feminizing effect on females. When I first heard about this condition I thought that the effected women would be kind of fat, voluptuous types with 14 children each. That's a misperception though, they apparently end up looking a lot like Joyce Carol Oates.

Talk about off topic. But this is open discussion--right?

Oh, OK. Yeah, that's right. You sure took your witty-pill, didn't you. 14 kids, Joyce Carol Oats, funny stuff. When I was four years old, I stuck something in our collie dog's ear. :? Maybe Santa doesn't need to bring me an extra Y chromosome. Zentric can have my extra one.

Sadly, i'm lost in this thread. Greatly honored though, i think, to be the subject of such an amusing story.

Again, great link TB.

No thanks. Besides, from this point on I have resolved not to torture small animals. Peace, brother

Just my way of saying hi, Rhinestones! I thought Ayoob was referring to you and me about the extra y chromosome thing. Think you're a girl, by the name, but am not sure, hate to admit it.

Well what about Glen Campbell singing 'Like a Rhinestone Cowboy'?

Like a Rhinestone Cowboy
Gettin' cards and letters
From people I don't even know

Its one of those names like 'Pat', 'Robin'. Come to think of it, there are lots of gender-ambiguous names. I was struck by yours, threadbear, right when I saw it. The double meanings and all. Like the Vermont Teddy Bears only here in 'thread' land. Also 'threadbare' like worn-out, frazzled. It sums up a courage to go forward in spite of it all.

Thanks for the clarification TB. I'm pleased that my minimal contributions to this forum haven't left me pigeonholed by gender. Would it help if I told you the blonde hair on my head is probably longer than yours? LOL.

Good catch PMS(giggle), I love that song but never considered the connection with this screenname. Clear to me though, it does fit:

I've been walkin' these streets so long
Singin' the same old song
I know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of Broadway
Where hustle's the name of the game
And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain
There's been a load of compromisin'
On the road to my horizon
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me"

Rhine- reference to geography of paternal origin, misspelling of southern pronunciation of first name
Stones- refers to occupation, hobbies, and gender?

Rhinestones: XY

Heavy Crude

My initial response to AR also included this:

What is it AR? Are you feeling that the impending evolution of consciousness signals the end of the patriarchal priviledge you have enjoyed?

Concerned that i had misunderstood his intent, i edited this statement out.
Too late though and I see this post at 12:29 AM

awesome rant

...like the beats of butterfly wings, one rarely sees the full results of his/her actions, and that IS a problem.

I better go back to lurking now.
