They should.

I understand that predicting these kind is hard. But the track record of CBO is awfull the say the least. I mean take for instance the deficit projections for fiscal year 2011 made in different years (billion$):

2008 -211
2009 -498
2010 -980
2011 -1480 (start of the year)
2011 -1600 ( most recent prediction)

Predictions by CBO for the deficits are concequently off by several factors and in one direction, in the best of times, and even worse when there is some economic headwind.

I wonder what CBO is going to make of things when the US economy simply stops growing at all. What happens to those assumptions then?
