Excommunicating yourself from BAU/fiat currency while they are still functioning seems more than a little odd; they provide a supreme level of comfort and convenience. Not saying you shouldn't take steps to insulate yourself from BAU failing with land, gold, or whatever, but heck, as long as I can do my job and have little e-bits zip about causing some Chinese guy to make a kitchen knife, stick it in a box, and have it end up on my doorstep in a few days... dats good s****.

That said, no way in heck am I using those bits to buy a McMansion, fancy car, or other asset that is more likely to make me its servant, than I am to remain its master.
