It won't be long now. Subtle spurts of anxiety coming in like the fog on little cat's feet. Soon comes the flood of Blame. Consevatives will blame the Enviromentalists for obstructing drilling. Liberals will blame George Bush for starting Resource Wars which disrupt supplies. Motorists will blame the Oil Companies for price gouging. The young will blame the old for leaving them a fucked-up world. Geologists will blame Economists for not listening to them. Economists will blame Politicians for obstructing the Markets. Republicans will blame Democrats and Democrats will blame Republicans. Socialists will blame Corporations for their greed. Husbands will blame their wives for spending money like it grows on trees. Wives will blame their husbands for being wimpy bread winners. Christian Fundamentalists will blame gays for bringing God's wrath. Gays will blame homophobia from habit. Leftist Intellectuals will blame Western Civilization for some sort of crap or other. Atheists will blame God for telling us to go forth and multiply. John Denver (the singer) will blame alcohol. John Denver (the poster) will blame himself I'm not going to blame anyone. How about you?

PS: The blame game will be quite a spectacle. I'm not looking forward to wondering how I'm going to feed myself, but I imagine the finger pointing to be quite entertaining.

I blame everyone except myself. The world revolves around my wishes and those who do not bow down to me deserve what they get. If PO messes up even one iota of my plans for the future, even those dreams I don't know I have yet, it MUST be somebody's fault. I cannot accept the possibility that there may be situations in life beyond humanity's control. If life isn't the way I WANT it to be I cannot be blamed, ergo, someone else is at fault.
It's China's fault for trying to live as high on the hog as we westerners do. Let's bomb them.
It's old-timers fault for using way more than their share of a valuable finite resource. Let's take away their social security benefits.
It's kids fault for being so self-absorbed they can't see PO coming. Let's laugh at them as they try to figure out what happened to their dreams.
It's the banks fault for building a financial system that cannot survive w/out growth... well, hmmm. That's actually true. Shoot, I was aiming for the absurd in this post.
