Hello, I'm a new member. I'm an Agronomy student in the midwest and got interested in Peak Oil discussions at my Student Farm club meetings. (Its a campus group where we learn about sustainable/organic farming techniques and get to practice them on a plot of land right outside town). We had a speaker about permaculture earlier this semester and I started reading stuff online. I've honestly been sometimes lurking here for the past few months but decided I've read enough to join in some conversations.

Howdy everyone,

Been lurking for a while now and decided to come back, if only to post in the prep boards. My life was getting dull without you.

Let's see ... since I was last here I started an online business (link should be in the sig or else in my profile). I figure it'll give me another source of income as well as portability. Should the worst happen I'll be a refugee with a paycheck.

But it also got me on the ball as far as getting my yard in order -- not wanting to be a hypocrite, and besides I like food gardening anyway. I've been putting in planting beds and ripping out non-edible shrubs and generally redoing my landscaping.

Anyway, that's about it. Nice to be back.
