Wow! Peak Oil poll at the BBC. Hurry, this is our chance!

Postby lorenzo » Sat 21 May 2005, 10:04:00

The BBC is featuring an article in which it asks viewers and listeners what topics they would love to see the BBC focus on more often.

Among the options it says "The Peak in Oil Production".

Let's vote, massively, this is our chance for some good old peak oil propaganda.

The article can be found here - please scroll down. And hurry!

Before you see the results, try to guess which three are top of the voting. I did and got all three.

If we give it a push, we can get "human stories from Iraq" and "the EU constitution" out , and move peak oil into the top-3.

When I voted, a few hours ago, Peak Oil stood at 8.55% and the EU constitution at 14% - since then we've knocked Iraq out, and we're on our way to going into the top 3 if we beat the EU Constitution.

Keep spreading the word! :-D

The interesting thing about the nuclear power debate being in the number 2 position is that if peak oil was not a concern, there wouldn't be as much of a reason to push for nuclear power.
Obviously, not enough people get it yet.

Yes I thought so too, that indeed these two topics are very connected and in fact one topic, so actually if there is a Nuclear power debate, there will be a peak oil debate. Actually climate change also somehow belongs there....
