I challenge anyone to watch this video and not be convinced that Peak Oil is just a lot of hooey! It's just 4 minutes, but puts it all in a nut shell!

We can see the humor in this. But the sad fact of the matter is that the average person I've talked to about this topic (was years ago I don't do it anymore), had answers that were more similar to this video.
Oil men (roustabouts, engineers etc) who insisted that we deliberately stopped producing US oil. Engineers who said it was a liberal conspiracy to tax us more, conservatives who said it was the oil companies lying to maximize profits.
This same article posted on another forum, generated a host of replies repeating some variant of the arguments in the sentence above. People's responses, much like in climate change discussions, are often based on political or religious views rather than fact, understanding of mathematics/thermodynamics, or the exponential function.
That's why I stopped talking about it years ago. I just stay abreast of current developments, and work on learning to live a lower energy and more localized lifestyle. You know, be the change you want to see.
