I heard on the radio news this morning about a huge flair that is supposed to affect the U.S. power grid in the next 2 weeks. I can't find any info on it. Anyone heard of this?

I heard there was a REALLY BIG one last week but it didn't do much for damage or interruptions...I haven't heard that there is another one comming (but they do usually go off in clusters).

damage to communications and electric grids aside, these make great northern lights shows. Even you guys in the southern states may get to see something (city lights permitting).

Last year's burst was the most spectacular I've seen, and the main display was to the south of me (live across the border from NY)
Angry yet?

I didn't know that the sun was into elegant high fashion.

It's such a stylish sun. I love that red and yellow outfit that it wears. :P

I use the radio option on my cell phone quite a lot. The last few days have been really frustrating as the radio is garbled much more than usual. I have heard this may be due to the solar flares.
