Guilty as charged
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('smallpoxgirl', '
')Dang. There's an awfull lot of people in Columbus and Cincinati, and Detroit, and Cleveland. Ohio has only 1.3 acres of crop land per person.

I suspect my community will use extreme measures to keep migrants out. Will I be standing along side my local militia(mob, if you will) with rifle in hand? God help me.
What excruciatingly difficult decisions will we each be faced with, perhaps on a daily basis? God help us all.
Those sitting well fed in their comfy chairs gleefully looking forward to this mess are without clue.

Hey MD, didn't Detroit lead the nation in murder rate a few years ago? That's a lot of trained gun users. I hope your local militia is well armed, well stocked, and accurate. haha
I consider the possible migration from densely poppulated areas one of the most interesting/scarey propositions of PO. Obviously we can't all survive, but a city vs. rural civil war will be horrible. My money goes on the city folk, there's just more of em. Maybe I'll get lucky and won't live to the Great American Shoot Out. haha

This posting started off as a discussion on declines appearing to be happening faster than expected and it has turned into something else--more of a how are we going to survive this mess theme.
Most of the folks on this site--certainly not all--appear to me to be young and this stuff is scary business when you think about what the future may have awaiting you. It is scary for anyone when you fully appreciate the magnitude of all that is involved in the depletion of a resource we count on so deeply. But all this talk about firearms or getting back at others is all very counter-productive. Everyone should have the ability to be able to protect themselves and their loved ones but then leave that thought to rest. To survive in the future and to prepare for it now is going to require brains and some serious thought with a good deal of courage and fortitude throw in with it. The folks on this site appear to me to be an intelligent well meaning group of people. Because we are from all over the world--from so many different enviroments, it is difficult for us to really help each other very much in terms of how we may prepare for the future as each of us will face different scenerios as all this plays out over the years ahead. Yet one thing we can offer each other is clear thinking and viable ideas so we may turn our fears into productive actions for the betterment of ourselves and the folks we care most about.
What is more desirable than something so rare
