$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mos6507', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ludi', '
')I think you might be misunderstanding what I have said.

Or you might have a habit of writing things that come across differently from what you claim to mean.

Other people don't seem to have the same problem understanding me that you do. You seem to believe I have a secret meaning different from what I "claim to mean" hence your phrase "claim to mean." Even when I have explicitly explained myself to you, you seem to ignore what I am saying and claim I am saying something different. I think this is more a problem with your understanding skills than with my communication skills.

On the subject of Libertarianism. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but many people who say they are Libertarians might actually be Objectivists (followers of Ayn Rand's philosophy). Ayn Rand hated Libertarians (and anarchists), apparently. http://www.aynrand.org/site/PageServer? ... bertarians

Objectivists have a unique world view and their own vocabulary which may not have much in common with the vocabulary of other people.

Example:

"Capitalism:
A political system that acknowledges and protects individual rights."

Interesting site discussing Objectivism: http://www.aynrandcontrahumannature.blogspot.com/

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ludi', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SeaGypsy', 'T')here are too many people who will do as little work as possible if not coerced into working,

Personally, I don't see any problem with doing as little work as possible. I don't work harder than I need to and I'm not convinced anyone else should have to either. Explain to me how I am wrong and what bad things I am doing by working as little as possible, and how hard I should be working and by whose standard.

The Committee for Work will decide what kind of work and how much you will do. Also it will issue guidelines, including things like how much enthusiasm you will display when doing your work, proper deference to bosses, etc...

Labour/ Liberal Lies:

"There will be a recovery"

"Our policies had nothing to do with creating this mess, that was 'them'"

"Protectionism must end/ be reinstated/ depending on the topic of conversation."

"The welfare state can be sustainable."

"A combination of heavy industry with a good national park system and tree planting is the way to Shangri La."

"Solar panels are good long term investments for a sustainable future."

"We don't have to lower living standards to compete with China."

"Huge beaurocracy is good because it creates employment."

"Wage bargaining is dangerous (for the working class) but ok for executives."

"When you fall over, just wait, any minute now someone will come along to pick you up."

The left appeals to a sense of greater good divorced from long term reality; the right appeals to jaded self interest in need of justification. Both sell according to their appropriate strategies. Both lie to suit their own agenda.

I was just wondering if you had something about dysfunctional workplaces to share, because that sure nails several aspects of the typical bad job.

Most of us have some degree of bad in our job. My idea of a bad job is firstly one where I can't save anything. No surplus, treading water, going nowhere, That is nearly everyone I know back in Australia. If you get to do something you really enjoy as a job you are probably 1%. If you get as much free time as you would like, another 1%. Both/ .1 of 1%. I left a job and career in the arts which I loved, to get a lot more time off in a job which I can handle but wears on me.
As the saga plays out, the tiny % of happy workers will reduce ever further, as surplus dissappears.
Eventually we will all have to work to survive. Whether for the work committee in a city or a community board in a rural setting.
