$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('EnergyUnlimited', '
')The same can be said about Liberals/Progressives etc.
Not true. What I am referring to is conservatives/libertarians/creationists/climate deniers inability to reason even when presented with facts that contradict what they are saying.
Example: The GAO recently came out with a study that said tax cuts are LEAST likely to stimulate the economy while food stamps and unemployment benefits are most likely to stimulate the economy. Did any conservatives change their mind about tax cuts based on this fact? Even though the MAIN argument they use in favor of giving tax cuts to the wealthy is that it stimulates the economy! (which it does NOT)
To argue in favor of tax cuts for the rich because they stimulate the economy when it is an objective fact that they do NOT stimulate the economy is irrational.
Same as arguing that global warming isn't real even though every SINGLE scientific academy says that it IS real and even though 97% of climate scientists agree that it is real (and keep in mind, that study also demonstrated that the 3% who disagreed were the least knowledgeable as evidenced by number of published studies).
Again....irrational.
Same as arguing that the earth is 6000 years old and that we all came from Adam and Eve. Irrational.
Could you please point to a belief that liberals have that is contradicted by fact? (and please be careful to make a distinction between fact and opinion.)
This should be interesting.
Oh, and by the way if you would like more "facts" that contradict the conservative world view I am happy to provide them.
