Holiday Terror: Weaponized Candy Canes

Unread postby mattduke » Thu 23 Dec 2010, 18:25:40

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')t would have seemed ridiculous a decade ago, but in today’s terror prone world it’s become business as usual. The latest threat?

Candy Canes.

If reports are to be believed, administrators at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, VA punished ten members of the school’s Christmas Sweater Club for participating in the spreading of Christmas cheer, part of which included the tossing of small, individually wrapped candy canes to students.

According to accounts by several students, the school punished them with detention and cleanup work because the popular holiday treats pose a possible threat to others due to the ease of weaponizing the candy canes.

Skylar Torbett, a junior, says he was told, “candy canes are weapons because you can sharpen them with your mouth and stab people with them.” Zakk Rhine, another member of the club, was told that the candy canes could, “maliciously maim students with the intent to injure.”

Has there ever been a society as fearful as the United States?

Somebody was watching American Dad last week:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/198464/american-dad-for-whom-the-sleigh-bells-tolls

Seriously, watch from around the 17:20 mark.
When the banksters want something, our policymakers move with the speed of Mercury and the determination of Ares. It’s only when the rest of us need something that there is paralysis.

How free are we today with the dominance of globalist capital and militarized security apparatus?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mattduke', 'H')as there ever been a society as fearful as the United States?

It's all about a move to tighter state control, something closer to fascism. Unfortunately nobody cares about what the founders said, like Franklin who warned that any man who gives up his liberty in exchange for security will end up with neither.

The bottom line on this insanity is that no politician wants to get the "blame" for another terrorist attack -- so they've given carte blanche to law enforcement. It's as simple as that, we've traded our constitutional freedoms away (including candy canes) in exchange for "security."

A more rational approach would be to balance our need for security with our constitutional rights. Another terrorist attack would be terrible, but LOSING OUR CONSTITUTION would be even WORSE.

Actually you know what.. this thread is about "weaponized" candy canes in school, so maybe I'm off topic. I think it's all part of the same thing though.

I posted this a few weeks ago, but it didn't get much reaction. It's pretty prophetic:

Cluster Munitions
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')hey are a daily threat to civilians in dozens of countries, especially Vietnam and Kosovo, where past American and NATO bombing has left thousands of unexploded bomblets behind. They were used again in the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, where their brightly colored exteriors lure children, who think the bomblets are toys.

Now just imagine what you could do with a pencil sharpener and a box of pencils!
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

We were told about this at the founding of the Republic. Those that would sacrifice freedom in exchange for security will have neither. In the end the nanny state will have us all duct taped to a gurney, sedated in a psychiatric ward. After all, freedom of thought is the greatest danger to the statist.

I think the movie Silent Night Deadly Night is more terrifying then mere candy canes.

Merry Christmas Mos. The presents are opened, the late riders have already appreciated the moment and gone back to bed, the kids are wound up pretty tight and it will be time for the turkey in a couple of hours, hope you and yours are having a good holiday season.

I assume that's $3.65 per gallon for premium or about $0.80 per litre. Here in Queensland, Australia, we are paying about $1.32 per litre in rural areas and not much less in capitol cities :x and our dollar is at US parity - last time I looked.

It's been $2.35 a litre in Arnhem Land and the rmote Kimberly for about 4 years.
BTW a gallon isn't 4 litres it's 3.78 so $3.65 is just shy of $1 a liter.
Rediculously cheap.

Again, the US not increasing its gas tax is the clearest sign of it being fully commited towards total economic suicide, it has cpmpletely given up, it's quite clear

You get more for your UK gallon than the Us gallon at 4.55ltrs per apx. However, as you say, fuel is by our references cheap in the US. I was paying, if my memory serves me correctly, $3.20 - 30 at either Boulia or Hamilton Crossing in 1972 and nearly $4.00 at Kings Canyon and it was not much cheaper at the "Rock", but like Arnhem land they are a fair way off the beaten track when one is talking about reasonably large provincial cities like Hervey Bay or Maryborough for instance. I guess there are places in the US where they pay prices comparable to what we pay, but they are probably in remote areas. :-D[quote=

I doubt if anywhere in mainland USA sells over $5 a gal.
Perhaps up in the outer reaches of Alaska or American Samoa.
