Teclo,

Be careful about passing out and letting the world do what it wants. Unless you're the last to pass out, you may not like the party pictures.

I was talking with my friend about the use of alcohol as a trade item. When things get worse, the demand for available alcohol will grow, because people like getting fucked up when times are bad. I think at some point I'm going to spend a few hundred dollars on crates of the cheapest vodka available. The kind that may or may not cause a loss of vision when consumed.

Sounds like a good reason to pick up homebrewing as a hobby. I've started making my own beer, wine & mead over the last year, and now that I have the equipment, most of the ingredients will still be available locally no matter what.

I'm also starting to garden this year to make my own salsa. Now if I can find a way to make tortilla chips at home, I'll be set. 8)

How to brew beer in a coffee pot!

Postby uNkNowN ElEmEnt » Sun 15 May 2005, 13:12:24

I kid you not this guy knows how to make it easy. In as little as a week you could brew a small batch of beer (one a couple of cups but still)

Thanks for the link. I'm with you on that, beer is the last thing I want to miss in times of crisis-always have been a beer drinker, always will be.

I heard a report on NPR over the weekend. Seems the latest theory concerning the development of agriculture is centered on the quest for MORE BEER. So I guess that it is beer that's gotten us into the mess we are in now. We should have quit once we got more beer.

Making beer is a way to store grain where rodents and insects can't get to it. So it has that going for it, in addition to being tasty! :-D

I remember reading that -- way back -- beer was better for you than drinking plain water... diseases killed by the alcohol, I suppose. So, it's also a good way to store your well water as well. One glass = a complete meal :P

Hi everybody, I'm just having a lazy Sunday afternoon, with a beer in hand, and I thought you might like one too:

I deeply regret not being able to actually buy you one in person, but a virtual one will have to do.

ive given up beer as of last friday night. my first booze free weekend for as long as i can remember is nearly over. i actually had forgotten what waking up without a slight feeling of illness felt like!

hoping to stay off it for a while - mainly to save cash as i have none.

Her dog didn't feel good either, but I'll leave it there and spare you the rest...

Glad you got this one Scott, in particular as a solid add-on to the sushi-cake. One day I fear they kick me out of this forum... but then again humor might be our last asset in a post peak world, so I don't think I'm in the wrong forum after all.
