$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Cog', 'U')nfortunately, I think we have a situation in the Gulf happening now that is apt to change to leader standings in a radical way.

Yeah, it's going to put me back at the top. :-D

In my guess, (from several months ago), I predicted a return to volatility and the possiblity of a double dip recession.

Two weeks ago oil was pushing $90 a barrel, now 2 weeks later its falling past $75 a barrel. I think this vindicates my prediction of a return to volatility.

Also in the news European countries are planning a massive $960 billion dollar rescue for the Euro, which would lend credibility to the possiblity of a double dip global recession, this one led by an economic collapse in Europe. This could further tip the scale to a much lower oil price by years end.

Well, here's my scorecard:

Note that there's a tie for 2nd. So the order is sorted by name in that case.

Revi better have a bottle of maple syrup saved for me! :)

Hey, Thanks for updating this! OF2 is getting his deserved share of love and respect. I will update the official scoresheet when the spirit moves me.

Keep in mind that in 2008 both the high and low for the year happened after July 1.....

Excuse me?

We're less than $40 from $29.75
with the Markets collapsing as we speak?

You folks actually think that $60 will hold
with the Margin Calls that are coming thru?

What? The PPT is cancelling ALL Margin Calls?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 8D

Keep dreamin America that your Chernobyl can be happening
and you can be ignoring it.

Weird but True: LSU officials discussed giving CYANIDE PILL to Ivor van Heerden?
~It ain't often you can leave Editilla SPEECHLESS!
Our Herolleros at Levees.org have snagged another quick interview with our Esteemed yet Embattled Hurricane Hero
and lemme toll'ya... jus'when you think you've heard it all,
CYANIDE? BWAHAHA! YA'KILLIN ME! GETOUTTAHEAH!
LEVEES.ORG: Can you share any details about the trial that are not already published in media outlets?
VAN HEERDEN: Yes. It seems that upper level administrators at LSU discussed whether or not to give me a cyanide pill.
LEVEES.ORG: Wow! Do you have a copy of the correspondence?
VAN HEERDEN: Yes, we have a copy of the email exchange.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')New Observations is forecasting that a minimum of one in ten homes with a mortgage today will be lost to foreclosure in the next two years and that this loss represents a staggering five-million-unit addition to inventory-for-sale.

But oil price is going up?

When the next down leg in housing happens
as we speak, the Bottom 90% minus those
with free and clear ownership will be debt slaves
unable to move w/o permission from their
Plutocratic Masters.

Think these folks will be buying gasoline?

$29.75 by Xmas.

And would you look at the Stocks being manipulated.
Up by 50% in 5 min.

Problem. Once the Plutocracy owns all the stocks
there's no one to sell to. Your Gov't being part of
the Plutocracy BTW. Everything stops.

Watch.

It's only June. Wait until the hurricanes start up. I may be eating pecans yet...

I have your pint of maple syrup ready in case I'm wrong, Peak Oiler.

It's not over until the fat lady sings.

We'll see where we're at around X-mas.

That's right, Revi. We haven't reached halftime yet. And I think there will be storms in the GOM this year, and coupled with the oil slicks, will impede oil shipments. My guess is those interruptions will have at least a $5-10 effect upwards on the price. We shall see...

Pecans will be harvested in Oct-Nov. and I'll send you a sample even if I do win our little bet. :)

Thanks Peak Oiler. I think this contest makes it fun. I actually have no idea whatsoever what will happen with oil. I just added $10 to the record price in 2008 to arrive at my high price and took $60 as a low. So far my low price is about right, but we have a ways to go to get to my high.

We'll see what happens.

It's really sad what's happening in the gulf. I think it is the end of our love affair with oil. We can't pretend that it has no effect when dead animals are washing in from a poisoned sea onto our shores.

It may not have affected the price we pay at the pump, but the price we pay psychologically just went up a lot.

.

The fun should start when the top guys go back to work after the northern summer holidays

the price of oil has been very steady so far , between the low 70ies low 80ies
so has the economy , no growth and no Titanic , pretty much dead in the water

I assumed a drop in activity for a 60$ price ,and natural gas is flowing freely
beside economic activity and something going pear-shaped in the gulf the next test will be how cold the winter is going to be
we'll see

I don't keep track of such things but I have to think OF2 probably has the all time record for being in first place for the longest time....

He'll stay there until the price either exceeds 88 or falls lower than 66.
