Ok, since Preston thinks I'm part of the vast right-wing conspiracy he probably thinks this is another Obama hoax thread.

But nope, I'm a lefty independent whole calls it as I see it.. and this book by Laura Ingraham is outright racist, and shockingly poor writing at that.

It's a stereotype that black people eat ribs?

I've never heard that one before. The white people I know eat far more ribs than the black people I know. Granted, my sample sizes might be insufficient to generate accurate data for a stereotype.

The way the "#1 Best Seller" scam works is that since they are only measuring sales in the NY area, the publisher sells a shipping container of books to some conservative nonprofit and gets #1.

The book gets the buzz, Laura gets that sweet sweet "wingnut welfare" for being a good shill.

And the books? The end up being part of "Get three conservative bestsellers for $1 when you join...." whatever.

Actually Laura gets credit for making me haul out Mein Kampf in 2005 when I used to listen her radio program on long road trips. One caller after another called for Dems to be beaten, hung, intimidated, and Laura would say "Thank you caller." It went on like that for hours. SHE couldn't call for violence, but her screener could line up a solid hour of callers who would. That was the run up to the 2006 midterms, that was when I pegged their strategy to "Causes of the Collapse" in Mein Kampf, and they have chugged along from chapter to chapter since. Now that they are in a corner, they are blaming everything on immigrants. Wow, who could have seen that coming. It's the nazi trump card.
