One thing is for sure. I was thinking about this last night. I don't know anyone outside the internet who likes to talk about current events outside of sports or showbiz.
Not one person other than my wife. I know some of every type of sheople (that should be the correct spelling) listed in the article.
I guess I'm the nihilist sheople type. It all started when I picked up my first book on WWII in the third grade, called Climax at Midway. And got worse when I started researching Pearl Harbor in depth in the early 90s. I found PO by accident while researching car hop up parts. Even back then I knew something wasn't right but chose to live like everyone else, maximizing personal gain, fun, and consumption. It was fun... wine women song, hot cars, motorcycles, sports, and lots of stuff.
When I first became aware of PO, I tried telling people I knew. That cost me some friends and alienated some family members.
It was then that I decided that it wasn't my job to inform those who didn't want to be informed. My job is to provide for my family now and in the future, whatever that future may hold. Whether that's complete collapse of this country, or business as usual for the rest of my life. I think the latter is far less likely than the former and that's what separates me from everyone I know in the meat world.
So I just don't give a ****. I do what I need to do and the let the rest wallow in their ignorance. Even trying to discuss inflation and the Federal Reserve with intelligent people causes them to get glassy eyed and change the subject. When all that info is uncontested fact; easily verified. People just don't want to know.
**** it and let the chips fall where they may. Life is too short for me to worry about other people when it seems that I consume all of my available energy just to provide for my family (one foot in the 'real world') and to prepare for an uncertain future (one foot in the 'doomer world').
Doom can come at us from so many different angles, whether it's PO, climate change, NWO, currency collapse, deflation, hyperinflation, et al. No one can predict which one it will be, or if it will be none of them.
So I just keep my nose to the grindstone and be the change I want to see. Nihilist-light perhaps. No need to be miserable when it such misery has no impact whatsoever on reality. That's what I believe.
Yeeee haaaaaa: it's gonna be one hell of a ride no matter what happens!
