I am sick of hearing about this guy.

I could care less how good he is at bouncing a ball back and forth. And to think people are upset about this?

Of course I am not a sports whore, I would rather be a participant in my hobbies than live vicariously through these A$$holes.

It was really tacky how he had to make a spectacle about it, with that supposedly "suspenseful" ESPN special where everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting to hear his decision. I don't think anybody in sports or entertainment has done anything like this before.. you actually had bars full of people gathered together to await the word form Lebron on High.

The way he did all this is especially hurtful to folks in Ohio.. they've had people leaving that state for Florida for decades now. So for him to make a show about it just rubs it in that Ohio is a dying state.

Venture forth some evening to the local 'Outback', 'Applebee's' or any of a thousand neighborhood bars. Every one has a multitude of widescreen tv's... all airing one sports event or another.
.
One night, after possibly 2 or 3 beers too many... I commented to the bartender that her patrons could probably benefit more from the tv if it were tuned to C-Span. She said.. "Most of these morons don't know what C-Span is."
.
Me? I boycotted "professional" sports back when the players went on strike and gave the fans the middle-finger salute.
.
If today's "professional" sports has done anything good, it has been to keep a lot of thugs on the court or field and out of prison... for a while anyway.

We have bars over here that market themselves as sports bars with round the clock coverage. That and bloody karaoke (god, those Japs have a lot to answer for!). Gone are the days when you could hear yourself speak.

I used to have a lot of fun doing karaoke back in the day. It all started when some guy did such a bad job singing "american pie" I decided that even though I can't sing I could do better. My other specialty was "wooly bully," for some reason I can do that one really well and I get lots of claps and cheers. And I'd do Sweet Caroline now and then.
