sorting the member list by number of posts shows
850 who have made 50 or more posts
about 4411 with 1-50 posts
14739 who have made no posts

Those (and those that never join) are the ones we should be talking to.

I don't think the internet will be around at that point. TEOTWAYKI is right around the corner.

choose your cause:

-no fuel for electricity
-electrical grid failure
-no money to pay the electric or internet bill
-fiat money having no value
-communications absorbed by government/civil liberties curtailed
-all members labeled as insurgents, transferred for reeducation
-no server willing to host the site or fear of reprisal/being labeled insurgent
-technology saves us by then, the whole notion is moot
-catastrophic disaster: supervolcano/asteroid impact/out of cowbell

I have often thought of those on here who are professional lurkers. At times I have attempted to include them actively in the various conversations. Occasionally one will step forward and comment.

Of course, I should talk. I joined the group when it was only one month old and I never seemed to get involved in the dialog much over the years. A bit more recently. Since I feel that I know you all now.

How did it happen that 200 newspapers wrote the same article the same day ?

One day there will be so many houses, that people will be bored and will go live in tents. "Why are you living in tents ? Are there not enough homes ?" "Yes there are, but we play this Economy game". Now it's "Crisis" time !Too many houses! Yes, we are insane!

here is the article, actually it is right on exept for the fact that she lives back east.
Living back east you will not survive the radiation, they have to move to the west coast to do that.

Reuters/AP control news distribution. They choose what the general public is supposed to read and broadcast a hotline which hundreds of news carriers pick up and replicate. There is no independant press.

this could cost aaron a few grand just for hosting for the next two days

it is also on memorial day

It makes me sick to my stomach. I'm not ready for peak oil to be mainstream. My advantage over the schmucks is slipping away...

What do you bet that gold and silver take off this week with all the n00b buyers along with those who were waiting on the sidelines to buy when peak oil went "front page?"

JPL, I share your sentiment.

Now that we've been "discovered" the site is so slow I feel virtually banned from it.

And, inevitably, along with the good new eggs, there will be a lot of rotten ones.

The upgrade proceeds.

Problem being the long weekend in the US is our host isn't available until tomorrow.

And bandwidth isn't a big problem... yet. Processor cycles however... big problem. (& memory).

Fear not good people... cycles are on the way.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.
