PMS, you need to re-name this thread. Change "representations" to "assassinations".

Unlike Jack, I have found my sensitive side. And I know that I should not confuse Mercurygirl with Wildrose. That is entirely my own personal failing. I know that one of you are mature in years like me, and the other is a spring sapling, relatively speaking. You may have noticed my weakness. I feel free to ridicule the men, but not the women. Even the sexy SBC, I called her an elegant equestrian. So sue me if I say that Aaron is a nihilist techno-geek or Monte is a boy scout Imperator. That's my nature. Hugs and kisses to all you ladies. Now I feel like Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias. But I tell you what, I've been around awhile, and I've heard men ridicule women like you wouldn't believe. To tell you the truth, I'd bet that women have got some pretty sharp tongues too when it comes to men.

Crap, and here I thought I was the resident drunkard, must have been the DTs.

I hereby elect PMS to Prolific Pontificator of the Pointless.

BTW, Olaf, bring over a 12-pac when you stop by and something for you to drink too.

I'm honored... because I made someone laugh.

Oh and MQ is about as fun and flexible as a puritan funeral service.

Aaron, I think he meant "nihilist geek" in a good way.... 8)

Well, there's little doubt of that. Honestly, though, I can't say I prefer one gender over another; my favorite people are both women and men, in real life as well as on this board.

I really wish I were as funny as a lot of you are. I'm just not. But I love to laugh!

Dangit, I had a pretty rose for your avatar, Wildrose, but I just don't know how to post images. Sorry!

I wouldn't really call your original idea ridicule, PMS. Mostly pretty apt characterizations, as are the rest of the people's. Anyway, we all frequently need some laughs, being such serious seers as we are.

Oh, hell, now I'm doing it too.

Here comes the bus; five minutes early no less. It's nice to catch any kind of break these days, and maybe this one will mark the start of a happy run of circumstances.

Now that I think of it; even though it's colder this morning that yesterday the air is dry and hardly moving, unlike that biting sleet from yesterday. The ice even has that sticky quality that only comes on the bitterest of days when your footsteps have the unique *squeak* against the thin layer of snow covering the ice.

Yes, I think maybe today will be a good day. There's a mountain of work to be done at the shoe factory in Endicott and we'll need every bit of good fortune we can muster to get through the days production plan.

We're so fortunate that enough of the old Endicott and Johnson shoemakers were still alive when the Asian imports stopped three years ago. It didn't take too long before there was plenty of bare feet and fresh demand for shoes and these old guys jumped right in and helped us launch the factory. We're still using mostly hand labor as the heavy production equipment was all shipped to Asia twenty years ago, but our numbers are climbing and there is no end to demand. Life is good, I guess. At least here it's ok.

There hasn't been much news from LA since the race wars got into full swing two years ago. Man that was an ugly scene that never stopped. Every week a new city in turmoil for various reasons and always sides being chosen over race and class. Those that chose an homogeneous environment ended up a lot healthier than those that stayed in the "melting pots".

I bet today is the day my new bicycle wheel will finally show up and I can ride to work instead of waiting for this damn bus. It's an easy ride straight down the interstate twelve miles. Yes, I know it's restricted to commercial traffic only now, but there's precious little of that. No one will bother me . . . I hope.

Yes, today is a good day.

You've got your own family as do I. There's more I could say but I won't. I'm not bad at the humor angle. But I'm whistling past the graveyard. My daughter is a vegetarian. If you want to know the truth, behind the jokes, I'm pretty scared.

oh and if you don't mind i'm going to cross post my little story (up thread)into a new thread. Contribute if you like. I've got some poetry on the way too. I had a great one flow through my mind yesterday but I wasn't in a place where I could capture it. No worries though. It will return.

Just sharing my thoughts, MD. I'm going to die, and so are you. We all are. The only advantage any of us gain is putting one or another of us there ahead of time. But that's pretty criminal, isn't it?

I have both script and soundtrack lyrics just about committed to memory.
