Yeah. I'm still waiting to have my house raided by the FBI looking for copied video tapes and untagged mattresses. I wouldn't hold your breath for them to raid your yardsale.

What they are looking for are the people who bought recalled items ( lead paint toys melamine tainted dof food etc) and plan to sell them.
Not individuals, but lots of recalled goods from the distributers who had to take them back on the recall. They were not disposed of by incineration, rather by resale to other distributers.

What I took from the article. Is that they are laying groundwork. The regulation does affect your yardsale legally. It definately does not exempt it. Reminds me of stories of how Stalins Comrades swept out the grain from the granaries in the Ukrainian Famine.

The irony in all this may be is that we might end up with a charismatic leader like Hitler who tells the American people that the current system is toxic and not reformable. Then all the lobbyists, politicians, and banksters may find themselves on a cattle train car to a death camp. No doubt both sides would recruit a lot of people to fight for them.
The smart money would be on people who stay out of that fight and try to avoid being collateral damage until there is a clear victor, just like in a big barfight between two huge rednecks.

Think about it for a second. The feds can't be bothered going after pot dealers unless they can get them with like a thousand pounds. That's despite the fact that marijuana possession is a federal felony. Do you really think they've got the manpower to go out and scour yard sales for toys with lead in them?

It's the principle of the matter. The law is overbearing. There are 15,000 recalled items. I'm supposed to know what those are before I sell something? I could be fined millions of dollars fine if prosecuted.

I can see it now! Crystalnacht II. Angry mobs drag all the yardsalers from their homes in the middle of the night. They're sent off to concentration camps where they're forced to wear arm bands with "Pb" on them.
