And people still insist that the changing future is going to be, oh, so smooth!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '"')People are coming to work after a long commute, sitting in traffic watching their discretionary income burn up. They're ready for a fight or just really upset," he said.

This will end well.

What we need are the calm, cool and collected voices of reason that bleat "DURRRRRR, I can afford $10/gallon at the pump before it makes sense to quit my job." Yeah, you might. But what about your neighbor? Is he the resentful type?

Over the last year, I have heard reports of the occasional fistfight over at Countrywide.

Late last year thousands of Account "Executives" (aka subprime pushers) closed a lot of loans but got canned a few days before they funded. They got their butts kicked to the curb and their pipeline went to someone else. Lots of AE's had commision checks in the neighborhood of $5K-$8K on deals they did all the work on passed on to someone else.

Many of these hyper agressive sharks were wound up tight to begin with. I heard a few managers got socked in the jaw while employees were on their way out.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]financially strapped workers having to cut back on paying for personal pastimes that might serve as an antidote to work pressures.

I guess people must have beaten each other up continuously before those expensive pastimes were invented. Or maybe there are other ways to release pressure if you use your imagination... like boxing or wrestling. :)

Glad I work with happy people!
And on those not so happy days...people are allowed to drink at their desk.

My work involves dealing with the public and in the last couple of months I've really noticed an increase in people getting out of control, ranting and raving and getting hysterical over things. The general stress level out there really seems to be going up.
