I would be OK with that, as long as it's across the board.
If we as a society decide not to help people that have stumbled along the way, then by all means, let's not help those that are standing strong.
A little consistency would be nice.
And I am saying this with tongue and cheek. Because I KNOW that if we as a society CHOSE to help people, we could. We just don't want to make the effort. It's much easier to let the disenfranchised suffer and die. We can sit in our den, turn on the AC and watch Paris Hilton. Who wants to think about the 12 year old in Iraq prostiuting to soldiers so she can help feed her family. I surely don't want to think about it. Seriously, I think we should make a way for all to prosper. IT can be done if we got rid of the true leeches (speeling?). The global elites. Those are the ones sucking us all dry, not the destitute. That 12 year old prostitute may have the secret to alternative energies somehwhere in her head. We will never know, because we allow TOO many of us to die without having a chance to contribute to society. Does anyone wonder how many tmes over has the cure for cancer died of starvation??
There is plenty to go around.
