Massive yet tiny engine

Unread postby ForeignObserver » Sat 10 Jun 2006, 14:42:26

Hi all,

I couldn't find any reference to this being posted previously but it seems interesting. The performance figures attributed to it are impressive and in a world of impending decline anything that makes what we have last longer has to be encouraged.

In addition it's significantly lighter, simpler with less moving parts, runs multiple fuel types etc etc.

A copy of the patent can be found on the site.

Here's the link

Anyone know any more about this?

Why is that everyone's new engine is better than what's already on the market? Let's see one run on fuel with repeatable dyno results by an independent testing agency and than I'll get excited.

Hmm ...

From what I have seen in the specs, it's nothing more then a turbocharged engine.

Some questions :
- What are the costs of producing that engine?
- At an 800 hp output, if you put that engine to move a truck ... it will fall apart. An engine needs to be pretty heavy.

In theory, any engine looks awesome. But when you have to make it usable, polution compliant, etc ... there goes everything.
