$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('TommyJefferson', 'J')ohn Stossel can be a dick, but slapping someone in the face because they ask you an uncomfortable question is unacceptable.

You would dislike it if I did that to you.

True, it's unacceptable, but it's still a funny clip. I think it was inevitable - Stossy told an obviously 'roid-raging wrestler that his profession was fake. Whoops. That guy could've broken him in two without much effort; seems to me John-boy got off easy.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WebHubbleTelescope', 'N')ot if I could get the $400,000+ that Stossel reportedly got in a lawsuit settlement.

Good for Stossel. I hope the wrestler had to pay every penny of the award.

Nope, the WWF had to pay.

Because of this incident, Stossel has been crowned King of the Hypocrites. He has long criticized tort laws and been in favor of tort reform, whereby he says that people should not be entitled to large settlements for "frivolous" lawsuits. Yet here he gets a large settlement. What a freaking hypocrite!

Hypocritical? Stossel? Then he is definitely a libertarian.

I wondered about that.

I remember seeing him on television promoting tort reform.

How can a libertarian support laws restricting what juries composed of citizens decide is just compensation?

That's doesn't sound very libertarian to me.

Apparently, Stossel's powers of reasoning are pretty weak, or perhaps conveniently 'absent' at times.

Consider this paraphrasing of one of Stossel's "myth-debunking" diatribes about the American economy:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'M')yth #4: Outsourcing Is Bad for American Workers. Stossel found a company in California which was able to add workers after outsourcing much of its work to India, and Tennessee is building a community college on the site of the Levi jeans plant which moved to Mexico--creating jobs building and staffing the college! Besides, American workers can only afford stuff made elsewhere, something Stossel thinks is just dandy, without considering WHY they can't afford domestic stuff. Stossel loves "free trade," ignoring the fact that trade isn't "free" if the workers aren't free to pursue the highest wages in the same way capital pursues the lowest costs. Stossel likes corporations--end of story.

Apparently, this libertarian has no problem masking job losses in the private sector with another layer of bureaucratic spending...

1. I hope John Stossel gets hit by a bus.

2. I feel really sorry for people who believe this man.I mean really, you go to work, come home, turn on the TV, watch John Stossel tell you these things and everything is OK! One day the people of america will realize that they just got hoodwinked.

3. Thanks for both movies.
