Well I selected a few items that I like for a snack ( and one new one because I was in a mood ) And have come up with these totals...
English water crackers ( England, 5000 miles)
Smoked Oysters ( Korea, 6500 miles )
Bottle of German beer ( Munich, 5600 miles ) heavier than can so more expensive to ship.
Oh heres the good one, I saw this at the local store and couldn't resist because of the sheer waste in the system.... like I said I was in a mood...
"Eternal" Bottled water ( New Zealand, 7100 miles ) plastic bottle unfortunately (hey but at least thats _made_ from oil)
Yeah I bet they won't be shipping that stuff "eternally" hmmmm the bottle says "rich in silica" - Huh? Is that a neccesary nutrient? Why would I want more silica? What the heck its from New Zealand right?
Tote this on my KLR650 (50mpg) up a rough single track dirt trail into the mountains here, sit on a rock, and ponder absurdity while munching!
Grand total 24,200 miles from the producer to me!
C'mon peakers I am sure we can do better than that! Can anyone break the 100,000 mile mark for a snack?
