Good day:
Back in 1984 I was living in a walk-up apartment in St. Louis.
My, then hubby, purchased a brand new digital alarm clock for the bed side.
We had a 7 year old daughter, and my ex-husband was a truck driver.
So, since he had to get up very early in the morning, we usually went to bed very early.
After we purchased the digital alarm clock with bright orange numbers I began to wake up at 11:11.
Every single night I awakened at that exact time, and looked over at the clock.
I became very frustrated with this unfolding event because it interrupted my sleep. I thought that my internal clock was goofed up, or there must have been a barge on the Mississippi that went by and blew it's whistle at 11:11.
The awakening began in early spring. When daylight savings time came I thought that the problem would fix itself. Perhaps it was summer daylight causing the problem. Perhaps it was the heat. We did not have air conditioning.
Well, daylight savings time came and went, and I still awakened at 11:11, and looked over at the clock.
Now, logic would dictate that I would now awaken at 10:11, but I did not. This went on from 1984 until the early 1990's.
A few months later we purchased a brand new Sears microwave oven. You guessed it. The microwave had a digital clock.
I was cooking supper a few days after the purchase and I felt what I thought was a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around, and there on the microwave was the time 11:11.
From the microwave it spread to the car radio clock. From there to my entire environment. I began to see the number everywhere.
My first computer had a construction date of November 11.
In 1999 I returned to college to finish my degree.
One day I was in computer lab waiting for a class to start. On a whim I typed 11:11 into google.
I pulled up a web site devoted to people who see the number 11:11.
The date, November 11th. Obviously I had seen 11:11 on a paper I had written. So, I don't put this one down to coincidence.
I feel a pulling in my abdomen whenever I see the number. I become uncomfortable when I see the number. I make it a point to turn away and not view the number.
Now, as to what I think has been going on all these years.
#1. I don't know, and nobody else does either.
#2. I don't buy into the philosophy of the people on the web site who think it is a calling from another plane for humans to aspire to a higher mental plane. i.e., the next level of human consciousness.
#3. I don't think I am making all of this up in my head.
My daughter and I made a joke of this nonsense the entire time she was growing up. 11:11 was everything from the winning lottery numbers (I don't play) to the day of my death. (since i will be dead I won't care).
#4. A harmless mental quirk. We all have them. Could be a lot worse. I watch a lot of X-Files.
#5. Subconscious message I am sending myself. This is the theory, along with #4, that I buy into the most. I have a tendency to absorb information, facts, knowledge, in a subconscious way. I then tend to reformulate the information which can come out in dreams or "visions".
No, I don't grow anything on my farm except for grass for cows!
We all process information in different ways. I tend to absorb information, and just tuck it away. I am a nervous person, and I think that I need to reach a nearly unconscious level for my brain to be able to make sense of all of the information that it receives.
Of course, the 11:11 began the same time I began having recurrent dreams that contain the following:
hungry people,
endless storms.
violence.
The identical same terrifying dream for 15 years!
Could my subconscious be trying to tell me something, or is it the aliens?
Sounds like a dream about an economic shitstorm to me.
The human brain is an amazing thing. The human brain is complex, and little understood.
Just my take on this, from my crazy experience.
Pheba:
I don't think a person is crazy when they say they see a number.
