On the credit card debt poll 7 people have down that they have more than 100,000 dollars of credit card debt. I hope thats a joke. I couldn't imagine carrying that much credit card debt. 8O

I imagine you have to be pretty wealthy to qualify for $100K in credit card debt, so it may not big such a big problem for them comparatively.

I have a good credit record, good paycheck, and plenty of assets and no one has ever offered me more than a $10K credit limit.

The poll says "credit debt". I took that to mean all debts. I have way more than $100k in total debt ($150K in medschool loans alone). I certainly don't have $100K in credit card debt though.

Yes, there's a mistake on the poll: someone understands "credit card", some other understands "all debts". You should clarify...

You should definately make clear if it should include mortgage, personal loans or credit card debt.

On the other hand I have known some people who had over 100K in credit card debt. They ended up selling their homes to pay off the bill; basically trading the credit card debt for a mortgage.

might not be wise, but seemed to have worked.

Yeah, it could be misleading. I owe 100K on my mortgage but only 5K between my wife's car and both our credit cards.

PairieMule, can I start a topic with "holy F@ck"? I know lanuage in posts are not usually moderated but having bad lanuage in the topic header I think is against the COD. Not that I care at all but just since your now a moderator, I don't want you to get in trouble. I would like to become a moderator, but not a forum moderator, I'm waiting for them to advertise someone to manage the paypal donations

Energy RoundTable

I thought I would mention this as it is in itself not worthy of a topic, but I believe people who normally don't frequent FSN, it may be missed. Todays roundtable has Richard Heinberg & James Howard Kunstler. I'm quite disapointed in the guests Jim has on his show for this roundtable, he said last week that they were going to put together a unbiased show and really attack the issue of peakoil. I fear this roundtable will just be a peaknik orgey of masturbation. Jim Puplava is a self confessed peaknik who has been studying peakoil for 10 years, and these other two people are very bias. I know Jim has faith in renewable energy somewhat, but the others do not. I was hoping for some other guests who are not in the Peak Oil camp so there will be a good debate. I look forward to listening to it, but is going to be so one sided that I'm going to disregard alot of what is said. Sorry for highjacking this thread.
