Anyone know of any way to rid my compter of the error reports and the misdirected website,s that take me to porn.I have porn on my favorites that always comes back.I have deleted it and emptied my trash bin ,but it always comes back.I never even put it on my favorites in the first place.I have tried spyware removal from microsoft. It detected a whole bunch of stuff and removed it all ,but one thing always comes back on every scan.It doesn't remove it .It says "possible host hijacker" I am now trying to use spy sweeper, but when I downloaded it I got a message error that says that it had problems activating the service. So now I'm waiting for customer service to get back to me.
Sometimes I hate this darn infected computer. If anyone could help, it would be great!!

A couple of options:

1. Give in and jerk off to the porn shit since it is designed for that purpose. The crap has addictive properties though, so be aware and set deadlines, otherwise you won't get anything accomplished in normal live any longer.

2. Throw away your browser and replace it with the product of a competitor. Firefox can be downloaded within 2 minutes, if both Firefox and Explorer are infected refer to Netscape, they still might provide some versions.

3. Throw away your machine and start over again.

Please record your conversation with customer service and share it here at PO.com!

I'd love to hear how you explain a picture of a body builder holding his tube steak in his hand and looking at a MILF as a desktop background and asking CS if this could be a virus...

I would also recommend using Firefox

It also sounds like you have some Trojans on your computer, so better run a thorough check.

Had the same thing happen to me, think I got it from downloading music?
Had to reinstall my operating system to get rid of it for good. Do you have a firewall? If you have broadband you better get one! Do not just reinstall the OP fdisk your hard drive. I could not get rid of this worm and I have been using computers for oveer twenty years. Good luck!

Find the active process you suspect is the infection.

You can do this by hitting ctrl/alt/delete... select processes tab.

Then note the name of the process. (probably running under your logon account)

Next go to start/run and run regedit

(Don't mess up this part!)

Do a search for the offending process name... delete on site.

If it's a clever Trojan, they will have a supporting process with a different name, which will detect this change & reinstall the trojan...

Identify this supporting process & repeat the procedure above.

WARNING! - Editing your registry requires admin access to your comp & any mistakes you make in there can render your comp inoperable.

If that happens... reinstall.

Welcome to the future.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Get an antivirus software for the future too, like Norton 2005.

I find anti virus software to be a waste of money. I just do a free online virus scan at this site.

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

I suggest doing the scan even if things appear to be running fine right now.

Here is another site that helps you identify various problems with your pc.

http://www.pcpitstop.com/

Both of the above sites require internet explorer in order to the scans.

I didn't pay one cent for my anti-virus software...

My software automatically blocks spyware/virus/trojans/etc from entering, and comes with a free firewall.

lotrfan, you probably don't turn me off (can't get over you signature).
I neither payed anything for gmail (or googlemail as they call it nowadays) and till today I live in a world without spam - I have not ever received a single piece of junk (or porn to stay on thread) on gmail. Send me a PM and I'll invite you to their service.

Keeping your virus protection up to date always requires a subscription. I haven't found any exceptions except the free online scans.

You recommended Norton, but I know that isn't free. What program do you use?

Yeah, Gmail is pretty nice. It used to be an "exclusive" service but now "undesirables" have infiltrated, and it doesn't help that you get to invite like 50 people hahaa. :P nahh, i'm just kidding. I LOVE gmail.

I am not sure what you refer to here exactely but the point is that Googles marketing is stellar. Is there an any more effective form than personal recommendation? You have to have the product though in the first place and they have it! Cutting edge and lots of money pair and there you have the child!

I had a ton of similar trouble with my old Dell 4300 running Windows XP.

You may consider trying what I did. This solution really worked well and I've had no trouble since. I recommend it to anyone fed up and frustrated with ads, spyware and all that irritating nonsense.

It was a beautiful sunny August afternoon when I unplugged it, took it out back, grabbed my Model 66 and pumped a cylinder full of .357 magnum's into it. Then I went to the Apple Store and bought me a sweet little Apple G5 with that awesome 20" screen. Oh yeah.

All of my computer problems have now been solved. :)

Apple computers are great for the basic computer user, who just needs certain things done. Unfortunately, Apples are terrible for geeks and nerds.

I love Linux, but I can't run the software that I like to run on it. The only reason I use windows is because of compatible software.
