But with regards to this economy, I don't see any.

The economy isn't really getting better, it's just not deteriorating as quickly as last autumn.

Kind of like how the blood loss slows down once the patient's heart stops beating...

The talk of "green shoots" is originating from the infamous PPT. There are no actual green shoots in this economy. The point of lying about the fictitious turnaround is to keep people from panicking. The economy could go catabolic at any time now so no rush to expose the lie. As GM officially goes bankrupt tomorrow think about all the green shoots. Happy times are coming.

Green shoots is a good analogy for the current economy.

Do you know how many "green shoots" get killed by soil fungus, slugs, etc?

I'll let you decide what components of our economy are the fungus, and which are the slugs.
