Interesting correlation Kochevnik, despite the highly anticipated release of Star Wars and Batman, movie sales have been in a slump so far this summer.
Luckily I can walk or take the CTA to the theatre so I haven't seen any noticeable difference in crowd size, snack stand crowd, no real difference.

Nevertheless I'm totally psyched to see Land of the Dead. Maybe fellow PeakOilers can find interesting correlations there, given Romero can churn out a good script.
Hope Savini's in this one too.

Uhhh - the fact that Hollywood has pretty much stopped making new stories and now just rehashes old sit-coms and stamps out sequels, may have something to do with it.

I still don't see why people coo over Star Wars. George Lucas is the most overrated human being outside the UK Royal Family.

Yeah, I have to admit Romero is very good at what he does.

Also, "Napoleon Dynamite" made me say "wow". It was flippin' awesome! But that one was an independent.
