I think what is scaring alot of people into believing PeakOil is the effect on the environment. Many people are now really wanting PeakOil to happen to prevent global warming. I think co2 levels are still hearsay in relation to GW, and I like to remind you that the USA is heading into one of it's coldest winters ever. Environmentalists will run rampant anyway they can, if the US has a very cold winter "it's global warming" if it a mild winter "it's global warming". My point is no matter what happens, environmentalists will put spin on everything. You could be enjoying yourself at the beach having fun and a enviromental wacko will come out and say "this tempature is .5 degrees above normal". Ever heard of the boy who cried wolf?
