Freiburg anyone?

The Greens got over 22% of the votes in the recent German election in the Freiburg area. (B'90/Grune). This is amazing.! Almost 23%!

Click on the map in the upper right corner where it says "Wahlergebnisse". You don't have to understand German. Freiburg is in the red area in the south-west corner of the map. Put your mouse pointer over the area.

Grey/black means a catholic-fundamentalist area. Red means a marxist-leninist area. (OK, I'm exaggerating a bit here...)

Der Spiegel in English if you're interested:

Now remember that the German Green Party is an almost conservative party with an environmental focus. Not the communist oriented parties you may be thinking of.

May I also add that the Freiburg area is, I think, the most beautiful place in Europe.

Well, maybe not in EU, but in Germany sure is! ;)
(Also, there's that old brewery in the center where you can eat those wonderful german sausages and drink beer at bargain price... any time I cross Germany I find a way to stop there! Love Freiburg! :) )

Hey, I've been to Freiburg before! I went there when I was in Highschool as an exchange student. Freiburg is awsome!

It's a very beautiful little city (or big town) surrounded by healthy forests and farmlands. The town is nicely condensed, with hardly any 'suburbs' and it's very walkable. Add a few windmills, and it would be perfect post peak.
...delenda est.
