An interesting problem modern humans face is lack of exposure to the things the body is designed to defend against, then it starts picking itself apart aka the hygiene hypothesis. A kid who grows up in a home that's too clean is more likely to have allergies and all that. The dirty truth is we get our beneficial bacteria from ingesting it and we get a healthy immune system by having real things to fight against.
