This is a story from the NY Post on July 26, Epstein’s first attempt would have been July 22 or 23, he was taken off suicide watch July 29. Barket is Tartaglione’s lawyer. So “about a week ago” would have been shortly before Epstein’s alleged first attempt.

No description of the coverage, which I would expect to cover the corridor in front of his cell as a minimum.

If there is audio as well as video.

No acknowledgement that the cameras were working, that they have retrieved the video.

The New York Post reported on Sunday that no surveillance footage existed of Epstein’s death. According to its sources, surveillance cameras in that part of the jail do not show the inside of the cells or the areas outside of them. It is not clear why, but it appears to have been by design.
