Embarrassing heroes/selling Peak

I don’t believe it was done in a marketing brain storm session but the process was still the same. Operation “sell Peak to the public” got under way and the thinking/selling caps went on.
King is a good strong name. Hubbert is a fine manly name also. That Pesky Marion though. Lets just shorten that to “M.” otherwise the stupid simpletons of the world will not be able to get beyond the name to the message.
Peak Oil believers stop being so vain lest you become like all those you look down on! Say the man’s name with pride! Marion K. Hubbert.

Actually in the PeakOil.com FAQ and Wiki we like to call him Hubbert King.

From what I read Doctor Marion K. Hubbert was a terror in the classroom and all his students were scared of him :). You know he came up with some of the key concepts in hydrology! The guy was brilliant and a Texan. I don't think anybody laughed at him!

Marion must be a considered an OK name in Texas. We've got a texan doctor at the hospital I work at called Marion. I think he gets a laugh out of how many people expect him to be a her. He certainly laughed at my double-take.
