Drudge front page says it all!

Unread postby Eli » Thu 08 Nov 2007, 14:20:27

In his subtle style he has 5 dollar gas in California in big red letters and then has this

Oil Apocalypse
as a story that is running in the UK

I am sure it will be a familiar movie to all those here however.

OH I think it is big in a way because I think we are going to see a wider spread of doomer thought through the general population.

We have that history channel mega disaster coming out too.

The thing that I didn't like about that movie was that is didn't discuss nuclear power much at all. It just said that wind and solar couldn't carry the load. Kind of cherry picked things IMHO.

Like I said, it didn't cause much of a stir here as far as I know. Al Gore didn't make it!

No it didn't, and I never saw it actually.

But they probably didn't want to talk about nuclear because of the environmental issues. Like anyone is going to care about environmental issues as we run out of oil.

The anti nuke crowd and anti carbon greenies will be burned at the stake by the suburban soccer moms when their SUVs start running out of fuel.

Nuclear does not replace oil, so the point is moot. If we had ample electrical generation and a couple of decades to get to PHEVs and then practical EVs, then yes, it would be worth noting. As it is, it's not going to silver bullet anything.

Let's try to "silver bullet" the legal industry in the US.

With a book.

Bill,
Yes, Tue-Thursday, 13-15 Nov works for us. Bring your gym clothes, 'cause we work out in the mornings.
Is Patty coming along, too?

There is one drop of oil left for every drop we have ever exrtacted. What makes you think that the developed nations won't have oil long after peak? What do you suppose would be one of the priorities for the oil?

After food and defense, energy production will recieve its share of oil. PO will push nuclear power, not stop it.
