Halford announced he was gay on MTV in 1988 and I think anyone paying attention already knew by then.

These guys already knew ! Except for the girl.

Here's the opening from that same documentary. Notice there is security present, searches etc, but somehow it was different back then. The cops didn't hassle you unless your actions were causing problems (for the most part). And despite the searches on the way in, we always managed to get in with all sorts of booze. It's much more of a police state situation now. And, worse, people (kids) accept it and even expect it.

I grew up in the eighties and we didn't have access to the internet. All we knew about Judas Priest was filtered through MTV, FM radio and Circus magazine. Back then the mere passive suggestion that a member of Judas Priest was gay would have initiated a beatdown from every camaro driving mulletheat with in earshot.

Honestly I could care less.

Take Freddie Mercury for example. He was as about as gay as a french horn. Yet no one can deny the cultural relivance of Queen's body of work. Same goes for Priest.

That Disturbed video has been around for a while. It never gets old.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

LOL exactly.....I noticed alot of metal head JP fans did not know quite how to react after he came out of the closet. Playing "Breaking the Law" and wearing leather seemed......well you know!

I think the female fans of Rock Hudson felt the same way when it was announced the Rock died of AIDS.

My how times have changed!
