This justs proves americans love conspiracies. 9/11, JFK, Roswell, Hoffa, this is just another.
When you don't know something (PO)or dislike something (GW) , create it as a conspiracy. People in the US believe with all their hearts that oil is so plentiful, it is just meanies are keeping it from them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('vision-master', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('POAlex', 'V')ision, you should discuss what he said instead of targeting him for being a Christian. Think about it. You get the world so interconnected and dependent on a resource then you cut off that resource to force the population to have no choice but accept the solution you chose. Whether scarcity is real or fabricated, the result is the same.
In order to convince the world to unite into a world government, you first have to convince the world there's no other choice. What is the Illuminati Conspiracy?
The Christian Myth has caused the World great pain! The new Roman Empire..

Sure it is true. but atheist run countries have a policy of extermination and ethnic cleansing rather than applying charity. So taking god out on the gov also can be bad.

Atheists like to claim religion killed so many people...well without religion in world the killings would have been much worse.

It was figured out long ago that humans need some sort of religion or they generally suck. So, go ahead and pick, one... link

This is just an idiotic or mischevous libel - 'Atheist' run countries do not have policies of extermination!!! Secular democracies in Western Europe, or Japan for example.

Ethnic cleansing is by definition carried out on ethnic lines, not in the name of a lack of belief in any particular god. Much ethnic cleansing is in any case along religious and cultural lines, e.g. muslim kosovans v their slav orthadox christian neghbours (and the first thing they did was dynamite the vacated slav churches).

newbonic I don't like it either as a Strong Agnostic but he is essentially correct. Pol Pot and PRC both professed atheist nations, both wiped out vast swathes of their own population.

Of course they were both dictatorships and had highly limited resources for the population. Which I suspect is a more likely to cause genocide than religious beliefs.

Face it, humans have killed for food, water and hell 'bling' for a long time and will probably continue to do so. This has happened through different religions, different areas different race. The only thing which has stopped it is prosperity.

To the OP, Christian belief which takes the age of the earth from the 'count ages of people in the bible' method is never going to like the idea of oil formed over geological ages from the bodies of animals.

You missed out Stalin's Russia/Soviet Union - that was a bloodbath to.
However, they were not psycopathically murderous in the name of a lack of belief in any particular god (allah/thor/jehova/ra, etc.), unless you count Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao as surrogate prophets. But rather they were run by power hungry sociopaths who destroyed any competing political force (which organised religion most definitely is).

Equally there are many examples of religiously justified bloodbaths, e.g. the conquistadors in south america, the british empire in africa (google white mans burden), the US as it conquered north america, muslim conquests, etc.

My point being that it is probably human nature to engage in barbaric behavior under some conditions, but as an atheist myself I resent the attempt by the poster to potray non religious folk as slavering monsters who'd go on a killing spree if we ever got into government!!!! (atheist run nations etc.).

The difference is that Atheists do not kill for Atheism. They may have rotten governments run by despots but they do not have the banner of "we do this for God" flying above them.

Few things are stronger or more destructive than the lure of "do this thing for God".
