There's a lot to be learned so look around

Just what makes that little ol' ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes... he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie in the sky hopes

So any time you're getting low
'Stead of letting go,
Just remember that ant.
Oops there goes another rubber tree
Oops there goes another rubber tree
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant.

When troubles call and your back's to the wall
There's a lot to be learned, that wall could fall.

Once there was a silly ol' ram,
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam;
No one could make that ram, scram,
He kept buttin' that dam

But he's got high hopes... he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie in the sky hopes

So any time you're feeling bad
'Stead of feeling sad
Just remember that ram.
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam!

Next time you're found with your chin on the ground
There's a lot to be learned so look around

Just what makes that little ol' ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant

So keep your high hopes, keep your high hopes.
Keep your high apple pie in the sky hopes.

A problem's just a toy balloon
They'll be bursting soon
They're just bound to go POP!
Oops there goes another problem ker...
Oops there goes another problem ker...
Oops there goes another problem kerplop.
Kerplop!

Not only should the question be "How does this relate to peak oil?" but "How does this relate to anything?"

Is this like performance art? Posting song lyrics? As in "Let's find the hidden eroticism in "Mary Had A Little Lamb" (just for the sake of argument)?

I'm sorry,Spirit of Lennon, I don't get the point of your post. (Maybe if we played the lyrics backwards?) :)

Seriously, though, I think I see your point, but maybe if you had included your own analysis of the importance of this (rather than "discuss"), it would have made things clearer... I can cut and paste things with the best of 'em, but try to add some intellectual weight of your own...

My two cents, and that price is too high!

My most humble apologies, I did think it said "open discussion - off topic posts".
Okay here you go.
There's this ant right and he thinks he can move a rubber plant right but everyone know's he can't but he still tries and it's because he has optimism. That was my rather spurious link to peak oil. Lets be optimistic and together we can move mountains. I'll go and find a corner to die in okay with you guest?

I'd sing it to you but that would be pointless

Thanks for the attempt at a positive message, spiritoflennon. Indeed, a positive outlook gives you a better chance at getting through any trials that come your way!

Unfortunately, THIS coming trial hits us all like those tsunamis hit those poor Asians last month: you WANT to believe good things, but the waves are still gonna hit, damage and death is still gonna come, and the consequences are WAY bad, and long in duration!

The ant of the song might have to reconsider: instead of MOVING the plant, maybe there's a way around it. Or can be built through it. Or maybe find a way to WORK with the plant. Or make lemonade out of that "lemon." Still a positive attitude, but with a sensible outlook.

For the record, when TSHTF, I hope there are several like you in my community! :)
