Best time to be here

There's an argument that living in these times is a good thing
There's nothing I would have hated more than living a normal boring lift, ending up on some respirator age 60 from years of alchohol abuse while some disinterested nurse flicks the switch
Instead I get to be part of the greatest changes since the industrial revolution
What we do in the next few years will shape our world for centuries to come, so I'm going to make the most of it and get involved
So come on people, don't fear the reaper, doom is relative in the end!

Hello , I am from Borneo Island, East Malaysia.
Here basically I powered down for 2 years already. Sell my turbocharger, sports suspension, in car entertainment devices, leather seats, sports rims, rotating plate numbers, bla, bla. A few month ago I sell off the car with the modded engine inside. It took almost 1.5 years to kick my addiction to fast car.

Now I am using a basic small car that get 33 miles per US galloon that used 1600cc engine. It give the same kicked as the previous car as it has the same power to weight ratio. At same time, use bicycle more and more. The best thing is my skin disease go away and I seem healthier. Well happy peak oil until hyper inflation sweep across the land.

At least I know how to grow vegetable now. The tips are 3R
Reduce,Reuse,Recycle. I am in Phase 2 now. Try to reuse anything.
The other tips are

1. No mainstream TV
2. No mainstream radio
3. No mainstream newspaper
4. No industrial drugs. (I have not eating those thing since 10years ago. Ok 2 years ago I popped 2 Panadols)
5. No soft drinks
6. No junk food
7. No alchohol (Medical service is going to privatised soon)
8. No SUV
9. No airline.
10.Use bicycle more
11. Grow your own vegetable in container if live in apartments.

I can live in Stone Age way of live except I missed internet and car dearly. Hey man I am living in 3rd World country so it is easier for us poor bastards here. I plan to push the car into the sea when the the right time has arrived :P
Today I recycled some Sarawak election banner to made curtains. The curtain looked like shit as my sewing skill almost none. Iam thinking of using superglue to stuck it on windows frame.
When all the rivers run dry, all the forests have been cleared, all the food has been eaten, tell me the value of your money

This planet and all the inhabitants are all accidental miracles. The odds of us even being here are unfathomable. Cherish your time here .Treasure each day as it comes. Listen to the birds at dawn and touch a leaf. It truly is a gift that most waste by banal living and thinking...myself included .

It is the BEST time to be here . This may be the last hurrah for man.(the Earth may sigh with relief tho') The end of god's great experiment maybe.

"Things " are not worth it. They will"posess " you and your life. Go crazy with your life..do what you love ...and most of all love and love all there is.

anneliese,
yes, exactly what i feel
I also have come to the conclusion one can take this further, much further to as well as being a truth that you know translates just as well into a movement or expression of this truth
by living life as you say, connected with others who have the same intention it becomes a voice in the world and something real
But we have to go all the way!
