There was an older thread talking about women and po. I really think the two don't go together very well. Women don't want a person with a negative outlook on life. I mean, even if you think it's going to be a soft crash or there won't be a die-off, you have to concede that things are going to get tough. I don't see how someone with that kind of view of the future can have the kind of spring in their step and witty reparte' that women are looking for to brighten up their lives. You can compartmentalize the doom and take it day by day, but it's going to bubble to the surface enough as you spend more time with them. So I don't see how a doomer can have a meaningful relationship with anyone but another doomer. A granola munching greenie isn't good enough. She has to be a doomer.

One of my ex-employees now a friend was having a particularly bad time with his relationships.

He got divorced then his girlfriend dumped him and got engaged and he was generally down in the dumps. I was quite worried for him and took him out a couple of times for a pint (got in lumber myself) to cheer him up. He was continually mopng around and totaly lost confidence in himself.

Till he discovered ..... Facebook.

Can't get him off it. The few times he visits, the first thing he wants to do is check his facebook. He's chatting to girls from all over the country and visiting them at weekends usually for passionate encounters, or as he calls it 'hot sex'.
