and it's such an improvement in my daily life.

Unfortunately it's not to and from work, but rather I sacrifice an hour of sleep for a one hour jaunt on the recumbent.

All I can think while I am riding is how much better life is when you get around doing this instead of driving. It's like paradise compared to driving, IF (and it's a big if) you aren't dodging traffic.

Most Americans get their arteries clogged by age 50 and become chronically ill. I just see so much of that, and it's totally because of the car system.

Also, the damn cars cost us an average of 160 a week (8,000 a year) according to federal statistics. If you make 160 a DAY after taxes, you are doing pretty good. So even if you make halfway decent money, you work ONE WHOLE DAY A WEEK for that damned car!

I look at the working class folks and all the cars -- they are just slaves to the damn things. And it's ruining their health and killing a lot of us in horrible accidents.

Damn cars . . . hyperventilate . . . hate the car system . . . wanna ride a bicycle everywhere, please 20 dollars a gallon soon please?
There's still freud in Schadenfreud!

I feel your pain re cars and cycling.

How do you like the recumbent? I have never tried one. Did you notice a big difference in comfort? I like the idea of that, but am afraid of not being upright and in a state of cat-like readiness to react when a car veers my way.
