I have a 13 yr old son and a 17 yr old daughter. I spanked my kids when they were younger once in a while, but if they don't know at a certain age, you done messed up somewhere down the line, I believe. I will say that my kids while they of course messed up NEVER threw the public temper tantrum screaming matches you see so often in bratty kids these days. Just ONCE I would love to go and grab them and take them over my knee and paddle their bottoms!!!

There is no corporal punishment in Cali schools, but when I moved to OK, my son came home with a note saying that he was acting up in school and even though I had signed for them to paddle him if they saw fit, that they were sending me another note to let me know that they might be doing so and to make sure that I was okay with it. Boy did my son's eyes ever get big when I signed it!

He never did need to get paddles, but he sure settled down in class in a hurry! He has been an honor roll student ever since. My son is bright and does catch on quick.
