Anyone wanna start a militia?

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

Penultimate, what I was referring to is this:

Saying "wanna start a militia?" on the internet is like making a bomb joke in an airport. It can get you noticed very quickly, though hopefully dismissed equally quickly as a joke, otherwise you'll spend far more time explaining yourself than you'd find convenient.

Technical details omitted for the usual public safety reasons.

No chance. If they were gonna come question me, it would have been for my posts on other forums asking about ammonium nitrates for reactive targets (aka, shock sensitive explosives) or my questions about where to get depleted uranium rods. I know where to get DU slabs, hell i could order them NOW if I wanted.
I think the fact that in addition to me "crazy" posts I also post alot of "Support our troops" type stuff, as well as thank the Lord daily we got Bush and not sKerry keeps me low on the radar.
But, in case the Man is reading, I got something to tell him....

Listen you asshats!! I submitted my FFL paperwork over a MONTH ago!! Wheres my license?! :x

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Yavicleus', 'I') have guns and swords and homebrew. I'm a one man militia.

Nice. I like the beer and the sword. I have two swords myself, though neither is probably very serviceable for actual "use". However, I do have three "norse" throwing axes, and a spear that would work quite nicely if it came down to it. It looks like my medieval re-enactment hobby may prove to be useful to me in unexpected ways. While doing it I have to some extent learned to sew and make clothing, leather "turn shoes", leather flasks, wooden "slat" beds, and wood framed tents, and more. Now I just need to learn to do that stuff without having to go to the store for my supplies.

With regards to the milita issue, I certainly would not be surprised to see a number of them form to protect individual communites from those that would attempt to reap what they had not sown, but not yet

Militias around here are serious business although somewhat under the radar nowadays. We're ready to make the adjustment to locally-enforced order. Trochman is a fine mechanic-he rebuilt a 327 Chevy engine for me then stuffed if into an old Willys truck using a J.C. Whitney adapter kit. This was aroung 1990, when I was still into rigs.
I don't necessarily subscribe to all of his "thoeries".
